Scrappy Surgery  with Mel Lewis


Bring in your scrap baskets!


Mel will talk about how to manage and what to do with your scraps. She will talk through colour choices, show her favourite roll technique and show you a variety of quilts.

You will be able to churn through your scraps and with confidence in building blocks of colour.

This is a members only group that meets monthly.

These meetings provide a great opportunity to learn something new and to get to know other members.


Every member is invite to join each term.

There are three terms in the year.
The cost of each term is detailed below and is payable in full, in advance, to the treasurer.



If there is a month when you do not want to join the planned programme, you are welcome to bring your own stitching project to work on.

Textile Art Exhibition “What Lies Beneath”

Each exhibitor has interpreted the theme in textile terms, resulting in a wide variety of approaches and so you will see many different techniques on display, from self-portraiture to 3D vessels, to finely embroidered or weaved small and large pieces.

15 to 18 - May Malvern Quilt Show

16 May - The Quilters.

A short documentary on Netflix about men in a maximum security prison in Missouri as they design and sew beautiful personalised quilts for foster children.


The Quilters follows the daily lives of several quilters inside the sewing room at South Central Correctional Center, a Level 5 maximum-security prison.

From design to completion, the men reveal their struggles, triumphs, and sense of pride in creating something beautiful in this windowless, sacred space deep within the prison walls."


The Quilters will be available to stream on Netflix beginning May 16
